Jebel Akhdar — the Green Mountain — sits at over 2,000 m and offers a completely different Oman to the desert below. The rim walk follows the edge of a dramatic escarpment, passing terraced rose gardens, ancient falaj irrigation channels, and abandoned villages clinging to the cliff edge.

Field notes
A 4WD is required to reach the trailhead. The plateau is cool year-round — bring a layer even in winter. The Anantara resort has a good trail map.
